Manchester: Manchester City has secured the signing of Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt on a four-and-a-half-year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2029.

The 25-year-old forward, regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young talents, is capable of playing across the attacking flanks. Marmoush has made a significant impact in European football, earning 35 caps for Egypt to date.

He began his professional career in 2016 at the age of 17 with Wadi Degla in his native Egypt, before making a move to Europe in 2017 with VfL Wolfsburg. Marmoush then joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. His debut season in the Bundesliga was outstanding, with the striker netting 17 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.

In the 2024/25 season, Marmoush has continued to impress, with 20 goals and 14 assists in just 26 appearances for Frankfurt prior to his transfer to City.

Fluent in English, Marmoush expressed his excitement about joining Manchester City, one of the world’s top clubs. “This is a day I will never forget. To sign for Manchester City – one of the best teams in the world – is an amazing feeling. I am delighted, my family is so proud, and we are all very happy to be here in Manchester,” he said.

He also spoke highly of Pep Guardiola’s influence at City, noting that the opportunity to work under such a revered manager, along with the world-class facilities, was a major factor in his decision. "I cannot deny I also want to win trophies. City have been the most successful club in England for many years, so I know I am joining a winning environment and culture," Marmoush added. "I want to learn from the staff and my teammates and become a valued member of this winning team."

City's Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, expressed his enthusiasm for Marmoush’s arrival, praising the striker’s outstanding attributes. "Omar is an accomplished and exciting forward, and I’m delighted he’s joining us. He’s had an outstanding season, and every time we’ve watched him, he’s influenced matches. He has outstanding pace, awareness, and exceptional goal-scoring ability," Begiristain said. "He can also play a number of different positions, which is a really valuable asset. I’m sure that working with Pep and the technical staff here at City will see him further develop his superb attacking talent."

Marmoush’s move to Manchester City marks another step in his promising career as he looks to contribute to the club’s continued success in both domestic and international competitions.
