Doha: An Israeli TV reporter was caught on camera being told by English football fans to free Palestine outside Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar.

A video of this incident is doing the rounds on the internet where some jubilant English fans were encountered by a journalist for an Israeli television after England's 3-0 victory over Senegal in the Round of 16 matches on Monday.

When asked by the reporter about their view on England vs France match, one of the fans was heard saying the English team could easily win over France, while the other grabbed the journalist to say "most importantly, free Palestine".

Earlier, another English fan was also caught on camera trying to say in Arabic "free Palestine"

In a video, the fan tells the Qatar Living reporter he has "just two things to say", one is "football, it's coming home and another is free Palestine"

His statement is met with raucous applause and cheering from those behind him and a chant begins: "Free! Free! Free!"

A number of fans have been spotted holding the Palestinian flag during the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches in Qatar. Earlier, interactions between Arab fans and Israeli media had gone viral where a Saudi fan berated an Israeli TV reporter in one instance. In the footage shot by an AFP journalist, the fan shouts, "There is only Palestine, there is no Israel... you are not welcome here".

Besides this, Arab fans have been refusing to speak to Israeli media in Qatar and some have been shouting "Long Live Palestine" in front of Israeli TV cameras. Many Qataris have also placed a Palestinian flag next to their own national emblem, hanging from the windows of their cars.
