New Zealand bowled out for 62 in first innings

In the second test, India bowled out New Zealand for 62 in 28.1 overs to take a 263-run lead. The New Zealand total is the lowest-ever by a team against India, with the previous low being 79 by South Africa at Nagpur in 2015.

Following the collapse of the first six wickets, they took the remaining four to take control of the match.

In a performance that involved brilliant bowling and good use of the conditions, the Indians bowled brilliantly and kept the New Zealand batters on tenterhooks during the brief time they had on the wicket.

Two New Zealand batsmen got into double figures during the innings: stand-in skipper Tom Latham and bowler Kyle Jamieson. Their innings lasted only 128 minutes since none of the batsmen knew what the Indians were bowling.

Jamieson topped the New Zealand side with 17 runs.
