Sheikh Mohammed launches Dh1 billion education fund

Dubai: HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Ruler of Dubai, announced Mothers’ Endowment campaign, a significant initiative aimed at honouring mothers in the UAE and supporting education globally. The campaign valued at Dh1 billion, is launched in significance with the holy month of Ramadan.
The Mothers’ Endowment campaign seeks to honour mothers by establishing an endowment fund dedicated to supporting education. By allowing individuals to make donations in their mothers’ names, the campaign aims to pay tribute to the nurturing role of mothers while also advancing education and vocational training in underprivileged communities. Through sustainable support, the campaign aims to raise the standard of living and enhance stability in these communities, thereby driving development and empowerment.
"Our role in the UAE is to help ensure people everywhere have education, hope and life. We have to contribute to creating a better future around the world”, Sheikh Muhammed wrote on X.
By highlighting the pivotal role of UAE mothers in nurturing families and supporting education, the campaign fosters a culture of appreciation and respect for parental contributions. The campaign establishes the UAE’s devotion to charity and humanitarian work, establishing a sustainable endowment that creates opportunities for education and empowerment on a global scale.
Sheikh Mohammed called upon individuals of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. Emphasizing the significance of honouring mothers and supporting education, he urged everyone to contribute to the endowment fund, invoking blessings, love and kindness during the holy month of Ramadan.
“Let us make our mothers happy, please our Creator, and practice fasting this Ramadan amidst blessings, love and kindness. May God protect the UAE and UAE mothers”, Sheikh Muhammed added on X.
Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), praised the Mothers’ Endowment campaign as a reflection of Sheikh Mohammed’s vision for sustainable giving and generosity. He highlighted the campaign’s focus on supporting vulnerable populations worldwide and providing them with essential resources for a better life.
“The Mothers’ Endowment campaign is an extension of previous Ramdan campaigns carried out by MBRGI, which have seen a massive response across the UAE and exceeded their targets in terms of donations and beneficiaries around the world,” Al Gergawi said.
