The Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan changed their official Twitter and Instagram profile pictures on Thursday as the countdown begins for the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM), the first-ever Arab interplanetary mission to enter into the Mars' orbit.

The unified image depicts the Red Planet encircled by the United Arab Emirates Flag and captioned 'Arabs to Mars 09.02.2021'. The UAE is expected to be the fifth country to conquer Mars within four days after the USA, Soviet Union, China, the European Space Agency, and India.

The Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Deputy Governor of Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also changed profile pictures on all their social media accounts in anticipation of the historic event.
