Saudi Arabia's meteorology authorities have predicted moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms across various regions of the Kingdom, with inclement weather expected to persist until Monday.

The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) said, “There are chances of moderate to heavy rain in most areas of the Kingdom starting Thursday. Cloudy weather will continue until Monday".

According to the forecast, southern and northwestern regions will experience rain on Thursday, followed by northern and southern regions on Friday. The capital region, Riyadh, is expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense issued a weather warning for most regions, cautioning residents about heavy thunderstorms through Monday. It was noted that the Makkah and Riyadh regions could face “moderate to heavy rainfall, hailstorms, and dust-stirring winds". Other areas, including Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, the Eastern Region, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders, are also forecast to receive moderate to heavy rainfall.

In contrast, light to moderate rain may fall in Madinah, while Najran and Tabuk are expected to experience light rain showers, the Civil Defense added.

Residents have been urged to remain cautious and avoid flood-prone areas. “During rain, stay away from low-lying areas, water pools, and deep valleys", the Civil Defense advised, emphasizing the importance of staying informed through its channels and updates from the NCM.

In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan and the Hajj season, the NCM has initiated training programs for employees of the Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Two Holy Mosques to enhance their readiness for extreme weather conditions.

The Kingdom's authorities continue to prioritize public safety, urging citizens and residents to adhere to guidelines and remain vigilant during this period of adverse weather.
