The Israeli military launched a significant airstrike operation in southern Lebanon, targeting over 120 Hezbollah sites in just one hour.

According to an Israeli military statement, the operation focused on the group's elite Radwan forces and other Hezbollah units. The strikes come as part of Israel’s broader confrontation with Hezbollah, which has intensified in recent weeks.

The military engagement follows a period of heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with the group launching approximately 135 projectiles into Israel on the same day. In response, Israel expanded its operations, striking Hezbollah positions and warning civilians to stay away from Lebanon's southern coastal areas.

Israeli forces are also conducting ground raids in the region to suppress further threats.

This action coincides with growing concerns over escalating violence in the region, as Hezbollah receives backing from Iran, a key player in regional conflicts. Iran has been linked to both Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthi rebels, with Israel warning of potential retaliatory strikes following missile attacks it attributes to Tehran.

The ongoing conflict marks the one-year anniversary of the deadliest Hamas attack on Israel in its history, leading to multiple military confrontations on different fronts. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that these wars aim to ensure such violence is never repeated.

The situation remains critical, with ongoing battles in both Gaza and southern Lebanon. Israeli forces continue to engage Hezbollah and Hamas as hostilities show no sign of de-escalating. Meanwhile, international figures, including Pope Francis, have condemned the inability of global powers to resolve the conflict, which threatens to spiral further into a full-scale regional war.
