Egypt to allow fully vaccinated tourists to enter the country without taking a PCR test, the Ministry of Health announced. Passengers who have received their two jabs of COVID-19 vaccines approved by the Egyptian Drug Authority and the World Health Organization.

A QR-coded vaccination certificate of the approved six vaccines, including Pfizer-Biotech, Sputnik, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sinovac and Johnson & Johnson, must be presented upon entry. A negative PCR certificate is made mandatory for unvaccinated passengers.

However, both vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers from covid hotspot countries, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Brazil, will have to undergo a rapid test upon arrival. If tested positive, the traveller will have to take a PCR test and then will be transferred to a hospital in case of positive PCR results.

The Health Ministry reported 412 new COVID-19 cases as of late-Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 279,596. According to the recent stats, 29 people have succumbed to the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,031 while total recoveries added up to 208,957.
