Philadelphia: A US restaurant has taken the amount of money you are expected to spend on a burger way higher. The newly launched Philadelphia restaurant, Drury Beer Garden, has a burger priced at USD 700 (Rs 57,987).

It is claimed to be the most expensive burger in the state and in the country. George Tsiouris, a co-owner of the beer garden hasn't mentioned the tip a customer is expected to pay and 20% gratuity is common in the US.

The burger is named 'Gold Standard' and has Japanese ribeye wagyu (beef), caviar, fresh black truffle, lobster flambeed with Louis XIII, gold leaf, Wexford aged Irish cheddar, 1500+ mgo manuka honey drizzle over fires and is served with loz pour of Louis XIII (cognac).

"Burgers are one of the most loved food items around the world. We are excited to provide our guests some amazing, creative, and tasty options with our new menu concept," said Tsiouris, who owns the establishment with his sister, Vasiliki Tsiouris-Balis. "My brother and I had so much fun creating this menu and we look forward to welcoming everyone," added Vasiliki.

Owners said that the beef burger is served with one ounce pour of the Louis XIII cognac, a prestigious drink that retails for nearly $5000 a bottle.

The revamped Drury Beer Garden is opening in Midtown Village and is going to be known by its acronym DBG. The menu has 15 different burgers. To celebrate the new look and expensive menu, the first 50 people arriving on opening day were given free burgers.

However, not everything is expensive at DBG. The appetiser-style smash burger that retails for $2.95 is one of the most affordable ones in the city. Other signature burgers include a cheesesteak-inspired option with shaved ribeye and a spicy one made with jalapenos. There is also a dessert burger served with ice cream.
