Director-General of the National Testing Agency, Vineet Joshi, clarified to NDTV that the NEET 2021 schedule would be announced this week and held only once this year, contrary to Ramesh Pokriyal's hint that it may be held multiple times this year.

NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an all India medical entrance examination for admissions to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS and BDS. Though the usual format is known, more information is awaited on changes made to the mode, pattern and format of the exams this year owing to the pandemic. Regarding the syllabus, Pokhriyal had said that the syllabus for NEET would remain unchanged despite the reduction in the board syllabus this year.
