Kollam: The prime accused in the snakebite murder case on Tuesday confessed before media to killing his wife.

Forest personnel had taken Sooraj to his house in Adoor, along with the snake catcher Suresh, for collecting evidence when he went public.

Sooraj had previously confessed crime to Crime Branch, only to later contradict the same publicly alleging police as trying to frame him in the case.

Uthra died of snakebite during sleep in her house in Anchal Kollam on May 7, which later found to be preceded by another failed attempt on May 2.

It is reported that the snake catcher Suresh would become an approver in the case.

Sooraj killed his wife in order to claim her insurance policy, which he had purchased for her months before the murder, sources say.
