Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the threat issued by sanghparivar against film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

“None need think that they can oust those having a contrary opinion. There is no question of allowing any such moves”, CM said.

Adoor Gopalakrishnan is a film director who elevated Kerala's fame into international level. The cultural society should strongly defend any intolerant moves against such a person for having expressed himself against anti-secular trends, he added.

AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy also condemned the threat. He said that no one will heed the barbaric call of sangh parivar against Adoor, winner of numerous international accolades.

Muslim Leage state general secretary KPA Majeed demanded the state government to register case against BJP state spokesperson B. Gopalakrishnan who had made provocative comments against the film director.
