Thiruvananthapuram: The congress leadership on Monday excluded governor Arif Mohammad Khan from the programme to commemorate former chief minister K. Karunakaran.

The governor was to inaugurate the programme, organized by Thiruvananthapuram district congress committee and K. Karunakaran foundation.

The decision came after K Muralidharan pressed Opposition leader to keep away the governor from the event, Muralidharan himself said as much in his talk.

The decision of the Congress was a reaction to the governor’s open support to the CAA.

K. Muralidharan maintained a strong stand against the governor’s open support, resulting into his being excluded from the programme.
