Kottayam: BJP state council meet, commenced here on Wednesday, passed a resolution criticising the cultural leaders in the State over their anti-BJP stand in the recent happenings.

The resolution says the social leaders have ‘mortgaged’ the humanism in them for awards and prizes.

Aren’t they seeing that the women and children in the State are being harassed? The people in Kerala should examine the sense of justice of these so called cultural leaders, the resolution says.

It also terms the stand writer M T Vasudevan Nair and film director Kamal adopted in the recent incidents as politically motivated.

Several cultural leaders had come up against the BJP over the party’s tirade against Kamal and MT.

The state council meet, commenced here on Wednesday, was inaugurated by Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu.

It is the first state council meeting being held after Kummanam Rajasekharan took charge as the party's Kerala unit president.

As many as 1373 representatives are taking part in the meeting.
