Thiruvananthapuram: Vigilance court here today criticised Kerala Chief Secretary, S.M. Vijayanand for failing to take prompt steps in the corruption cases in which high profile public servants were involved. The court’s statements came while dismissing a plea to conduct an enquiry against Vijayanand.
The court pointed out that Chief Secretary failed to act on the recommendations made by Vigilance Director to take action against corrupt officers. "It is unbecoming for an officer to have such an attitude. The government ought to take affirmative action in corruption cases", said the court before directing the government to provide facilities to Vigilance for conducting a fair probe against the officers.
