Thiruvananthapuram: The budget session of the Kerala Assembly began with Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam by his policy address. The Kerala budget of the financial year 2017-2018 will be presented on March 3.

The Governor began his policy address by flaying the centre’s demonetisation move and said it proved a setback to the state and hardship for the common people.

The Governor said that Kerala government will bring Right to Service act immediately. The law will ensure transparency, accountability and efficiency.

To ensuring women's safety, to set women police stations in all taluqs and special department for safety of women.

At the same time, the opposition MLAs hold placards raising women security concerns in the wake of attack on actress in Kochi. However, the opposition said that they would not disrupt the session.
