Kozhikode: Acclaimed Malayalam short story writer and novelist Paul Zacharia Thursday said the significance and relevance of the second edition of Kerala Literature festival in the current political scenario, “where tongues of writers are plucked away,”is exemplary and beyond explanation.

“The significance and relevance of the festival in the current political situation, where tongues of writers are plucked away, is exemplary and beyond explanation,” he said after inaugurating the festival.

In his keynote address, Padma Vibhushan recipient Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev said he was glad to see that literary festivals were picking up like never before.

“Many young people are moving from 140 characters to literature. Language is an intricate and phenomenal expression of the human mind and literature is a wonderful expression of it”.

He was also in conversation with journalist, TV anchor and filmmaker Sashi Kumar and actor Manju Warrier.

Sashi Kumar launched Sadhguru s latest New York Times, Washington Post and Amazon bestselling book – ‘Inner Engineering- a Yogi’s Guide to Joy.’

Jaggi Vasudev said the aim of the book was to help make joy one’s constant companion.

“To make that happen, this book offers you not a sermon, but a science; not a teaching, but a technology; not a precept, but a path. All our other titles are inspirational.

This book is transformational,” he claimed.

Nearly 300 writers of national and intemational repute will participate in the four day events of the Festival.
