Kochi: Two teachers of a Thrissur-based private engineering college, facing arrest for allegedly abetting suicide by one of their students were Tuesday granted anticipatory bail by the Kerala High Court.

Justice Abraham Mathew granted bail to teachers Praveen and Dipin stipulating that they would not enter the college premises or interfere with the day-to-day administration of the college.

Meanwhile, the bench also made absolute the interim bail granted Monday to N K Sakthivel, the vice principal of the Nehru College of Engineering, who was arrested in the same case of the alleged suicide by the student, Jishnu Pranoy.

They two teachers were granted bail on a bond of Rs 50,000 each with two sureties of the same amount.

The two other accused Krishnadas and Sanjith Viswanathan were granted anticipatory bail earlier.

Various accused in the case are facing the charges of abetment to suicide and criminal conspiracy under Indian Penal Code in the case of alleged suicide by the first-year engineering student Jishnu, who was found hanging in his college hostel in January this year.

The court had criticised the police Monday for arresting Sakthivel while his anticipatory bail plea was pending before it.

Sakthivel was arrested on Sunday from Annoor in Coimbatore by a Special Investigation Team probing the case.

The family of engineering student Jishnu ended their indefinite fast on Sunday night after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan assured them that all the accused in the case would be brought to the book.
