Thiruvananthapuram: The Assembly on Friday unanimously applauded the "surgical strikes" across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.

Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan, soon after question hour, invited Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to move a resolution to this effect.

"We offer our full support and also applaud the efforts of the Indian Armed Forces... What happened at Pathankot and Uri should not happen again and for that the Union government should make all efforts," said Vijayan.

Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala said that he salutes the forces for the fitting reply given to Pakistan for the September 18 attack by Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists that killed 19 Indian soldiers at an army camp in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Pakistan is solely responsible... in the global diplomatic space, Pakistan has become isolated," said Chennithala.

The lone BJP member in the 140 member Kerala Assembly, O. Rajagopal also hailed the government and the Army and expressed his full support for the strikes.
