Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal will become the goodwill ambassador of 'Mritasanjeevani,' Kerala government's sought after deceased donor organ transplant programme.

Launched in 2012, 'Mritasanjeevani' is coordinated by the Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS) and being implemented with the support of private partnership under the strict monitoring of government.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a Facebook post today that the initiative has given a fresh lease of life to a large number of people, who suffered from illness related to liver, kidney, heart and pancreas.

The scheme, with the slogan of 'Share organs, save lives', has also become popular across the world, he added.
