Thiruvananthapuram: The vice principal of the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College has issued a circular on new dress code for students, which has kicked up a controversy.

The circular has listed out a set of instructions for both boys and girls in the campus, asking them to be dress decently inside the campus.

It says that gents should not wear chappals, jeans, T shirts or any other casual dress. Ladies should not be wearing chappals, leggings, short tops, jeans and noisy ornaments.

According to the circular, boys should only wear uniform and the prescribed overcoat and ID card. Girl students should wear sari or churidar, along with overcoat and ID card. They also have to tie up their hairs.
