Nepotism indeed a corruption: Janayugom on appointment row

Thiruvananthapuram: Janayugom daily, the mouthpiece of CPI, carried an editorial on Monday saying that the nepotism is indeed a corruption.

The editorial says that nepotism and appointments made by means of this are totally unjust in front of a huge highly educated and jobless population.

It goes on saying the controversies that cast a shadow on the image of the LDF should be rooted out.

"In this context, mere excuses and the preaching of rivals’ corruption stories will be of no use. The mistakes and lapses should be corrected and the LDF should ensure such incidents do not recur," it says.

On Sunday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had admitted it was a 'serious' issue and said an appropriate decision would be taken soon.

Asked whether the present controversy had tarnished the image of the LDF government, Achuthanandan had said: "There is no doubt (about it)."
