Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Tuesday said Thrissur district secretary K. Radhakrishnan should not have revealed the name of Wadakanchery gang rape victim.

“It was wrong on the part of K. Radhakrishnan. What Yechuri had said is the party’s stand on the matter,” Kodiyeri told reporters.

“Action against the leader can only be taken as per the party guideline,” he said.

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury had said that party Thrissur district secretary K. Radhakrishnan had erred in referring to the Wadakkanchery gang rape victim by name.

“What had happened was wrong. It should not have happened,” said Yechury.
