New Delhi: Inaugurating a photo exhibition on the violence in north Kerala, the CPI(M) today attacked the RSS saying it was born out of and grew on the basis of violence and was an organisation that has grown on "lies and deceit".

CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, who inaugurated the exhibition organised by the Delhi state committee of CPI(M) against the "intense, militant mis-propaganda" conducted by the RSS and the BJP across the country, said that the cult of violence was inherent with RSS.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who also spoke on the occasion, compared the character of the Sangh Parivar with the Nazi-Fascist forces.

He said the terror unleashed by the Sangh Parivar forces in Kerala was part and parcel of their "grand design to establish fascist hegemony" by converting India into a theological state that "wipes away" minorities and the marginalised sections.

"From the exhibits (one can see) the cruelty with which our men were killed by RSS men... Notwithstanding that, they are campaigning across the country saying the CPI(M) and communists unleashed violence. But if you trace roots of the RSS, it born out of and grew on the basis of violence," Yechury said.

The chief minister attacked the Congress and UDF and said that they were endorsing the RSS attacks on CPI(M) by their silence.

"Six CPI(M) activists have been killed in last six months, over 200 were attacked and seriously injured. Apart from that, more than 80 houses and 35 party offices were vandalised. These are organised attacks and the Congress and the UDF has been endorsing these attacks with their betraying silence," he said.

"This exhibition depicting the gruesome scenes created by the RSS assumes greater significance. It puts the record straight, corrects the misunderstanding and above all exposes the gory face and true nature of the bloodthirsty Sangh Parivar once again," Vijayan added.
