Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan Saturday has accused Narendra Modi-led NDA government of turning the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into an RSS agency.

Pinarayi, in a Facebook post, said the National Investigation Agency (NIA)'s decision to drop charges against eight people including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case was “an orchestrated move”.

“The Modi government has been trying hard for the release of the accused since it came to power,” he alleged.

“Though investigators have submitted enough evidence to prove the role of RSS and BJP workers in incidents including Mecca Masjid, Samjhauta Express, Malegaon and Ajmer blasts, the government is trying to protect the accused and this is a threat to the law and order situation in the country,” he said.
