Kannur: A man was taken into custody in connection with yesterday’s incident in which a huge explosion ripped through a two-storey house near Kannur.
Anoop (43), who stored the explosives in the building, was taken into custody by the police.
The blast occurred at around midnight, leaving five people injured and buildings and vehicles damaged.
The house was rented to Anoop. At the time of the explosion, his wife Rahila and daughter Hiba were at the house. They suffered burn injuries and have been admitted to hospital.
The two-storey rented house was completely damaged in the explosion. Five other houses in the neighbourhood were also damaged in the incident.
