Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Tuesday said no assurance had been given to P.C George on his candidature from the Poonjar Assembly segment.
“George is not part of the LDF. We can’t allot seats for all the parties who support the Left front. The seat-sharing issue is to be decided by all the constituents of the LDF together,” Kodiyeri told reporters.
On Monday, P.C George, former Government Chief Whip, had said he was still optimistic about the Left Democratic Front (LDF) support for his candidature from the Poonjar constituency.
George’s comments came in the wake of the reported rethink in the CPI(M) over his candidature at Poonjar.
