Kondotty: The aided lower primary school at Mangattumuri near Kondotty in Malappuram district was closed down by an official team on Tuesday amid protests by the local residents.
The 86-year-old school was closed down at 7 a.m by a team led AEO Ashique Pulikkal.
The Kerala High Court had granted permission to the school manager to close down the aided lower primary school at Mangattumuri in Olavattur. Protest was brewing among the local people against the high court order.
It was in 2009, that the school manager approached the director of public instruction (DPI) for the permission to close down the school, pointing out that the school is uneconomic.
