Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is going the smart way to connect with the public and update them about various activities of his new government with the launch of a Twitter account and an official Facebook page.

The Twitter page, CM of Kerala, is an unofficial account for the Chief Minister.

He had launched his official Facebook page-Chief Minister’s Office, Kerala- which will be used as a platform to inform people about government’s significant decisions and new projects and also to seek their suggestions and opinions.

Though the page was created weeks ago, the CM became active on it Friday.

In his initial FB post, Vijayan said the page is meant to interact with people on different issues handled by the ministry.

"It is also a space for you (public) to express your opinion, make criticisms and share suggestions regarding the governments activities," he said.

He also elaborated various measures taken by his ministry within the short span of over one month of coming to power.

An instant hit among social media users, the CMs official FB page has received 88,614 likes so far.
