CBI gives clean chit to Salim Raj in land-grab case

Thiruvananthapuram: The CBI on Thursday filed the chargesheet in the Kadakampally land-grab case without arraigning Salim Raj and his wife as accused in the case.

Former Deputy Tahsildar Vidyodaya Kumar, Nissar Ahmed, Suhara Beevi, Muhammed Kasim and Ruqiya Beevi have been named as accused in the case.

Earlier, the CBI had named 29 persons including Salim Raj as accused in the case. Salim Raj was named as the 21st accused.

The case was that certain officials in the Chief Minister’s Office had conspired with revenue officials to grab a large swathe of residential land (44.5 acres) in Kadakampally in the capital.
