Bengaluru: The NIA court Saturday granted permission for jailed PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani to go to Kerala for eight days to meet his ailing mother.

The court allowed him to stay in Kerala from July 4 to 12.

While allowing Ma’dani to meet his mother, the Supreme Court Thursday had asked the trial court to decide for how many days the PDP leader can be allowed to stay in Kerala.

The apex court had also directed Ma’dani to submit the details of his mother’s illness and the doctor’s report to the trial court.

The Karnataka government had earlier opposed Ma’dani’s plea, alleging that he could try to influence the witnesses in the case.

It was in August 2010 Ma’dani was arrested for his alleged role in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case.
