Man arrested for poisoning school meal at Punalur

Kollam: A man was arrested by the police for allegedly mixing poison in the midday meals for the school kids at Punalur in Kollam on Tuesday.

The police arrested C.A Sathyan, a person who resides near the school in connection with the incident.

The incident happened at Chembanaruvi St Paul LP School in Punalur.

Sathyan, who entered the kitchen of the school, mixed poison into the food covertly. However, teachers became suspicious when they saw him leaving the kitchen. They immediately examined the food and realised that poison had been mixed into the food.

Sources said the reason behind the incident was unknown.
