Kochi: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy held discussions with Advocate General KP Dandapani at Ernakulam Guest House on Friday morning.

They reportedly held discussions on further steps to be taken in the Lavalin and Palmolein cases.

On Thursday, the High Court had rejected a plea by the state government for an early hearing of CBI's revision petition challenging the acquittal of CPI(M) politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan in the Lavalin case.

In his order, Justice P Ubaid had wondered why the government was very particular in having the case heard immediately.

On Tuesday, the Thrissur vigilance court upheld a discharge petition filed by former Chief Secretary S Padmakumar and former Additional Chief Secretary Scaria Mathew and acquitted them in the Palmolein case.

The Left opposition had raised the issue on the penultimate day of the assembly session on Wednesday, seeking leave for an adjournment motion in the palm oil import case.
