Kozhikode: The two rival groups of the Mujahid establishment, which split vertically 14 years ago, have announced their merger.

This was announced on Monday at a joint press conference attended by the leaders of both factions.

A public declaration of the merger of two factions led by T.P. Abdulla Koya Madani and Hussain Madavoor will be held on the Kozhikode beach after a general council meeting on December 20.

T.P Abdulla Koya Madani moved a one-line resolution on the merger at the meeting of the office-bearers of both the groups. The resolution reportedly said that the Mujahid movement had decided to merge after resolving the differences on ideological issues during a year-long discussion among scholars.

A sub-committee has also been constituted to resolve all the issues in the organisation.

The Mujahid establishment in the state had vertically split in August 2002 on ideological and personal issues.
