Peace School textbooks row: Three persons arrested

Kochi: The State police on Friday arrested three persons in connection with a case related to ‘objectionable content’ in textbooks taught in the Peace International School here.
The three persons, working at an institute named Buruj Realisation in Mumbai, were summoned to the city before being arrested by the Ernakulam Central Assistant Commissioner in connection with the case.
As reports, the controversial textbooks taught in the school were prepared by the Buruj Realisation, headquartered at Navi Mumbai.
It was reported that certain content in the book were highly objectionable and could trigger 'communal disharmony’.
Based on a report filed by the District Education Office that the contents in many of the textbooks used by the school are not secular, the police had registered a First Information Report against the Principal, administrator, and the three managing committee members of the school under Section 153(A) for promoting enmity among different groups on the ground of religion.
