Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister A.K. Saseendran Thursday directed the Chief Secretary to conduct a probe into controversy over the birthday fete of Transport Commissioner Tomin J. Thachankary.
On Wednesday, Thachankary had kicked up a new controversy after he reportedly asked the officials in the RTOs to celebrate his birthday.
The Transport Commissioner had the other day issued an unusual circular to all the Road Transport Officers (RTOs) in the state asking them to celebrate his birthday.
The circular had also asked them to distribute sweets at all RTOs and that Thachankary would reimburse all the expenses incurred in this regard.
