Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 249 candidates filed nominations Wednesday for the May 16 Assembly polls in Kerala.

With this, the total number of nominations filed so far has risen to 629.

Palakkad saw the highest number of candidates submitting nominations today at 39, while high range Wayanad saw the lowest at four.

PK Kunhalikutty of Muslim League, K K Lalitha of CPI(M), A K Saseendran of NCP and T Siddque and M A Wahid of Congress were among those who submitted papers, Election Commission sources here said.
