Not a political move: Suresh Gopi on Rajya Sabha nomination

Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to the BJP government’s decision to nominate him to the Rajya Sabha under the art category, actor Suresh Gopi Thursday has said it is not a political move.
“Just because the prime minister suggested my name doesn't mean that it's a political move,” Suresh Gopi told reporters.
The actor, a vocal supporter of Narendra Modi, had yesterday said that his nomination was a gift by the Prime Minister to the people of Kerala.
The actor had been a star campaigner for the BJP since the last Lok Sabha election.
Among the members of the upper house, 12 can be nominated by the President from amongst persons who have special knowledge or practical experience in respect of such matters as literature, science, art and social service.
