Shocking! Minors rape school children in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore

Coimbatore: In a shocking, horrible incident from Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore, five teenagers raped two school girls and a schoolboy multiple times and recorded their heinous acts on camera. Four of the accused are minors, and the fifth one is 18 years old, The Times of India reported.
Over the chilling incident that happened in a village near Pollachi, the police detained three minors and the youth, while the last minor is absconding. All the accused were school dropouts and were working for daily wages.
According to the TOI, the survivors were allegedly raped by the accused five times in isolated places around the village in the past few months.
The report states that the accused often watched porn on their phones and used to beat the survivors with thorny bushes when they refused to involve in their sexual acts. The ordeal the survivors were going through only came to their family’s notice on Friday, but it chose not to complain to the police. However, the villagers contacted ChildLine (1098) and reported the matter, and the Pollachi all-women police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The apprehended minors were sent to observation homes for juveniles in Coimbatore City, where the 18-year-old got remanded in judicial custody and has been lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
A manhunt operation has been launched to nab the fifth accused.
