Saved 66,000 Hindus from conversion; 3,000 women from love Jihad: VHP
text_fieldsPrayagraj: The far-right Hindutva organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) claimed that it had saved 66,000 Hindus who were allegedly getting covered by other religions during the last six months of 2024. The organisation also freed 3,000 young women from ‘love jihad’.
The claim was presented in the organisation's report to the three-day camp of its Central Board of Trustees at Sector 18 of Mahakumbh Nagar on Saturday, the Hindustan Times reported.
The organisation also claimed that it had conducted 'Ghar Wapsi’ of 19,000 Hindus who were practising other faiths during the period. It claimed the Ghar wapsi was carried out through consensus, spiritual and legal counselling, and besides taking affidavits from the Hindus willing to make a comeback to Hinduism.
Finally, the organisation claimed to have saved 97,934 cows from illegal slaughterhouses.
Last month, the organisation claimed that the Hindu birth rate has been falling, and every Hindu family has at least three children. Speaking at the Virat Sant Sammelan organised here, VHP's Central General Secretary Bajrang Lal Bangra said, "The declining birth rate of Hindus has caused an imbalance in the Hindu population in the country. The revered saints of the Hindu society have called for at least three children to be born in every Hindu family."
He claimed in the meeting that Hindus are being targeted in India just like they are being continuously persecuted in a planned manner in Bangladesh.
He said that the Centre is working on a law to limit the autocratic and unlimited rights of the Waqf Board.
