An inspirational report in the Dainik Bhaskar has revealed that a Rajasthani woman, identified as Anjali Kanwar of Barmer, has elected to donate the entirety of what would have been her dowry money to the construction of a girl's hostel on the NH98. Anjali had approached her father with the request after which a letter dictating the same was read aloud to the guests at her wedding.

Anjali, the daughter of Kishore Singh Kanod, married Praveen Singh on November 21. The bride then approached Mahant Pratap Puri with her request in a letter which he read out to the guests before praising the bride for her thoughtfulness. Mahant Pratap Puri head of the Taratara math, stated that announcing such a move at the kanyadaan itself was an inspirational act that would lead to the betterment of society. Anjali was then presented with a blank check to fill with the desired amount by her father.

According to Patrika, he also announced that Mr Kanod had already announced a grant of 1 crore for the construction of a hostel on NH68, but additional funds of 50 to 75 lakh were required to complete the construction. The amount was made available thanks to his daughter. Her act has received widespread praise on social media, with Rawat Tribhuvan Singh Rathore of Barmer having shared a clipping of the news article on Twitter.
