Pooja Bhatt shuts down ‘conspiracy theorists’ about Saif’s fast 'recovery’
text_fieldsMumbai: On January 16, an intruder brutally stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan inside his home in an apparent robbery attempt, causing him to undergo surgery at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital.
The actor was released from the hospital on Tuesday and was seen walking out. He also waved to his supporters and the paparazzi that had gathered.
Saif wore a bandage on his hand and neck, and while many applauded his speedy recovery, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam questioned how the actor could walk out after five days 'in such good shape'.
Now, actor Pooja Bhatt has addressed those who are doubting Saif's speedy recovery. She told ETimes that the "graphic details" of the incident created a different impression of Saif's medical condition, which was "perhaps not in sync" with the image of him walking out of the hospital unassisted, Indian Express reported.
Pooja pointed out that Saif had arrived at the hospital severely injured. At the time, Saif was joined by a house staff and his eight-year-old son Taimur. Pooja believes that if someone in a "wounded, traumatised" state can check themselves into a hospital, they must have the "grit" to walk out on their own two feet. She stated that rather than poking holes in this act of bravery and acting like "conspiracy theorists," people should "applaud" Saif.
Previously, in an interview with ANI, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam asked some "innocent questions" about the severity of Saif's injuries.
While describing Saif's recovery as a "medical miracle" and praising the medical personnel who assisted him, he asked Saif's family to come out and explain the severity of the attack.
“Has the medical sector progressed so much that Saif Ali Khan comes to his home jumping and dancing (after the attack)… It should be revealed how deadly the attack was and how badly he was injured,” he said and added, “The way Saif came out (of the hospital), it seems as if nothing happened four days ago… I want to ask the doctors, can a person whose operation lasted for six hours come out in such good shape within four days?”
Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his house by an intruder early on January 16. The burglar was discovered in the house by 3-year-old Jeh's nanny, Eliyamma Philip, as he approached the child's bed. When she and another nanny asked him what he wanted, the intruder replied Rs 1 crore.
Eliyamma notified the other members of the house, resulting in a brawl that left Saif injured. The intruder stabbed Saif six times during the attack but managed to flee. Saif then arrived at Lilavati Hospital in an auto. The alleged intruder has been apprehended by police.
