New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, filed separate pleas on Thursday seeking bail and contesting his arrest by the CBI over the alleged excise policy scam.

The Supreme Court has reserved its decision on both cases. Senior attorney Abhishek Singhvi, defending Kejriwal, and Additional Solicitor General S V Raju, representing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), presented their arguments before a bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, Indian Express reported.

"Thank you for the assistance. Judgment reserved," the bench said after the lawyers concluded their arguments.

Kejriwal has filed two separate petitions challenging the denial of bail and against his arrest by the CBI in the corruption case filed by the central agency. CBI arrested the AAP chief on June 26.

The arrest of the CM was upheld by the Delhi HC as legal and stated that the actions of the CBI, which showed how the AAP supremo could sway witnesses who could gather the courage to depose only after his arrest, were done without malice.
