Bengaluru: A civic body here issued a circular banning meat and slaughter in Bengaluru on August 31 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has imposed the ban, which will be applicable in all areas within the BBMP limits.

The notice, written in Kanadda announced the prohibition of animal slaughter and sale of meat on the occasion of "Ganesha Chaturthi" day.
