CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal: Following a meeting for major reforms in education on Friday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the government has decided to include the teachings of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna in the state's school and college curricula. The CM claimed that this move was to educate students about the cultural and spiritual heritage of these deities.

Yadav further announced that his administration has decided to develop places associated with the two deities in the state pilgrimage sites. He said that places associated with Lord Ram and Lord Krishna will be developed with the help of local elected representatives, PTI reported.

His government will construct gates dedicated to these deities as entry points to the state capital, Bhopal.

"The Madhya Pradesh government will identify the places associated with Lord Ram and Lord Krishna in the state and develop them as pilgrimage sites," the CM said.

The minister has also directed the Culture and Tourism Department to build entry gates dedicated to Raja Bhoj and King Vikramaditya. The former was an 11th-century king of the Paramara dynasty, while the latter was a legendary ruler in Indian literature.

An official said that Yadav also gave directions to officials to build entry gates at the state boundaries so that people could learn about the culture and places of religious importance in Madhya Pradesh.

Further, the chief minister asked the administration to chalk out plans to develop religious places in a bid to encourage religious tourism.

Finally, he wanted the cultural department to make an action plan to celebrate Gita Mahotsav on Manas Jayanti in the state.
