Gujaratis are angry at attack on AAP leader, says Kejriwal

Ahmedabad: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said people in Gujarat are "very angry" about the "rising hooliganism" in the state. He was talking about a recent attack on Aam Aadmi Party leader Manjo Sorathiya.

Speaking to the media, he slammed those who carried out the attack and said this is not Hindu culture. "They cracked his head in front of God. This is not the culture of our country. This is not Hindu culture. This is not the culture of Gujarat." Kejriwal is going to perform aarti at the Ganesh pandal where Morathiya was attacked.

He added that a survey conducted in Surat has shown that AAP is winning seven out of 12 seats in the elections later this year.

He asked the people who are working for BJP if the party has given them schools or hospitals in the past years. "Stay there, but work for us. Take their payment, but work for us," he appealed to panna pramukhs.

He claimed that the BJP is anxious about losing the state they have ruled for 24 years. "This is the kind of attack you do when you're losing. I want to tell them that till now you were dealing with Congress, but we are not Congress. We believe in Sardar Patel and Bhagat Singh. We are not afraid, we will fight," said the Delhi CM.

He also alleged that the BJP has asked the media in Gujarat not to speak to AAP people or call them for debates. "So I am asking people to set social media on fire."
