'God has punished..': AAP's Swati Maliwal slams own party on defeat
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Rajya Sabha MP and as well as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Swati Maliwal reacted to AAP’s defeat in Delhi, saying that god is punishing those who committed crimes against women, Asian News International reported.
There is a case filed by Maliwal against the personal aide of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for alleged assault against her at Kejriwal’s official residence when he was the chief minister of the Union territory.
ANI, however, points out that even after the serious issue she has been having with the party leadership, she has not left it so far, when leaders from it are flocking to BJP in recent times.
She said that ego and pride do not last long since Ravan's pride was also shattered.
“Ego and pride don’t last long. Even Ravan’s pride was shattered., but then again, he is only Arvind Kejriwal,” ANI quoted Maliwal.
She cited water pollution, air pollution, poor infrastructure, and lack of amenities as the reasons behind the collapse of the celebrated newborn AAP. She said that Delhi has become a dustbin today. AAP think that they can lie and people will believe them, she said, adding that people should do what they say, but AAP leadership forgot and deviated from their promises.
After Kejriwal himself lost his New Delhi constituency, while BJP maintained a single majority, it will be the saffron party’s comeback to rule the capital of India after 27 years.
BJP has won 40 seats while AAP has 17. When Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena won in Kalkaji, former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, who was accused in the Delhi liquor policy scam, conceded defeat against BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah.
