Patna: A father who had raped his two minor daughters on the advice of a Tantrik for begetting a son has been awarded a life sentence in Bihar’s, Buxar. While Tantrik Ajay Kumar has been given a life sentence too, the mother of the girls and her sister have been given twenty years jail in term for abetting the sexual exploitation.

According to reports, the girls, who were aged 14 and 16 when the sexual exploitation began in 2012, revealed their ordeal in their home to the police as they grew up. The reports suggest that the parents of the girls had sought the help of the Tantrik for having a son and began sexually exploiting the minor girls as advised by the Tantrik in 2012.

The couple got a son after which under the pretext of a special religious ritual the girls the Tantrik also raped the girls. The court has declared the accused guilty under sections 376, and 34 of IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO act. They have also been fined.

According to Dainik Jagran, POCSO court’s judge Mankameshwar Prasad Chaube pronounced the sentence in the case that was registered on April 28, 2022. The girls had accused five people including their father, mother and Mausi.

According to the census data of 2011, the ratio of girl child to boy child in Bihar was 916 girls per 1000 boys.
