Budgam, J&K, witness another violent encounter

Officials said on Saturday that an encounter has erupted between terrorists and security forces at Charar-i-Sharief in Budgam district,
"An encounter has started at Charar-i-Sharief area of Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job," the police states.
As a result of specific information about the presence of terrorists, a joint police-security force team cordoned off the area and commenced a search. Accordingly, there was a firefight between terrorists and security forces.
Upon zeroing in on the terrorists' hiding spot, the security forces were hit with heavy fire which triggered the encounter.
