Alleging politicization of the Ram Mandir inauguration in Ayodhya, Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut taunted the BJP suggesting that the BJP might soon announce Lord Ram as their candidate for upcoming elections.

Raut, known for his candid remarks, criticized the BJP's approach to the inauguration, labelling it a "BJP event" rather than a national celebration. The political leader even claimed that the ruling party had metaphorically "kidnapped" Lord Ram for their political gains.

Amidst speculations about Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's participation in the idol consecration ceremony, Raut asserted that Thackeray would attend but only after the BJP's event concludes. He questioned the necessity of attending a "BJP event," emphasizing that it lacked the national significance that such a sacred occasion deserved.

Furthermore, Raut accused the BJP of diverting public attention from critical issues like unemployment, inflation, and concerns in Manipur by orchestrating an elaborate campaign for the temple inauguration.

According to the Shiv Sena leader, the ruling party's strategy involves deploying its entire machinery and party workers, overshadowing the genuine essence of the auspicious event.

Highlighting Shiv Sena's historical connection to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, Raut emphasized the sacrifices made by the party's workers during the kar seva and recalled the visit of party founder Balasaheb Thackeray to Ayodhya.
